| Summary: | From the guidelines of the Academia Portuguesa da História, reborn during the Estado Novo,
this article proposes to analyze themes, contents and, above all, the values of the historiographic
production in this period. For this, we took António Augusto Mendes Correia, eminent Oporto
citizen and anthropologist, and through his historical production, we sought his establishment
into the scientific values of the Academia and find out its influence in his work.
This article includes results of the investigation that was presented in the Masters dissertation
under the title: «A ressurreição da raça portuguesa no pensamento de Mendes Correia. História.Antropologia. Eugenia (1911 -1960)»
