Synthesis of 4-Aryl-1,2-naphthoquinones via a conjugate addition-oxidation reaction catalyzed by p-toluenesulfonic acid
A catalytic conjugate addition-oxidation reaction of 1,2-naphthoquinones has been investigated. p-Toluenesulfnoic acid was found to be the most effective catalyst for the reaction. This developed method provides a short, simple, convenient, and low-cost synthesis of 4-aryl-1,2-naphthoquinones.
