description Keeping pace with technological changes in the international arena for developing countries such as Iran needs to increase domestic capacity in the area of new technologies. However, the need for easy access because of the short lifetime of these technologies has made the need for supplementary methods for internal research and development such as technology transfer obvious, but under sanction, technology transfer takes a novel form. This paper presents a model for selecting the appropriate method to facilitate nanotechnology transfer process and its case study focuses on the nanotechnology equipment as the main infrastructure of nanotechnology development. The research methodology is based on both qualitative and quantitative approaches. In the qualitative section, in-depth interviews and semi-structured questionnaires methods have been used to extract the factors affecting technology transfer, and by using data mining techniques such as factor analysis and hierarchical clustering, a model has been developed to select the appropriate method of technology transfer. Finally, to assess the validity of the model, in a case study focusing on nano equipment and AHP technique, joint research and development has been selected as the most appropriate method of technology transfer.
