Description
Summary:
Technology in Dutch society
TIN-20 takes the traditional history of technology one step further and transforms it into a contextual history of technical artefacts. In this way, technology (and the technical genius behind it) is reduced to little more than a plaything between social actors. The author argues that more attention should be given to the particular features of technological (and scientific) genius and to an archaeology of this genius in the material, and particularly spiritual, evolution of Dutch society.

This review is part of the discussion forum 'Techniek in Nederland in de twintigste eeuw' (J.
