Abstract: The professor at Paraná Western State University (UNIOESTE), Moacir Piffer, are celebrating 40 years of professorship. To solemnize the date, the Informe GEPEC Journal to make a reportage about the professor, approaching aspects of our university teaching career, the implantation of the regional science and the ramifications in the Toledo campus, their opinion about university teaching career and the tribute received by the Congress of Brazilian Society about Economy, Management and Rural Sociology (Sober). More than this, this text does more human side of Piffer, redeeming a memory about the beginning of the College of Human Science Arnaldo Busato (Facitol), the predecessor of Toledo campus of Unioeste.
