Summary: | Using data from the radio–sound network, monthly maps showing the regional distribution of Maximum Mixing Depts (MMD) are presented following the method suggested by Holzworth. The MMD is related to the potential for dilution of atmospheric pollutants in the boundary layer. Maps and graphs showing the average intensity of resultant wind within the boundary layer are also shown in order to give and idea of horizontal transport and dilution potential of pollutants. |
