Summary:ABSTRACT Stroke is a heterogeneous disorder and is the leading cause of physical disability. A comprehensive approach in identifying the pathomechanism and managing the vascular risk factors both in primary and secondary stroke prevention settings can lower the risk of first and recurrent stroke.
