Primary livedoid vasculopathy with livedo reticularis: a report of a case successfully treated with cyclosporine and dapsone

Livedoid vasculopathies are a group of heterogeneous disorders featuring cutaneous ischemia. Common pathological features include perivascular fibrinoid deposition with absence of evident features of vasculitis. Livedo reticularis is a pattern of vascular reticular pigmentary changes that associate...

description Livedoid vasculopathies are a group of heterogeneous disorders featuring cutaneous ischemia. Common pathological features include perivascular fibrinoid deposition with absence of evident features of vasculitis. Livedo reticularis is a pattern of vascular reticular pigmentary changes that associate in some conditions and disorders, reflecting the underlying mechanism of predominantly arterial ischemic event. In this case report, we present a 43-year-old female patient who developed a bilateral multiple hyperpigmented nonpruritic lesions on both arms and thighs with spontaneous skin ulcerations of 3-month duration. The biopsy results revealed characteristics consistent with vasculopathy. The patient has showed a remarkable improvement on combination of cyclosporin and dapsone.
