description The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between pre-service elementary mathematics teachers' attitudes towards uncertainty and their attitudes towards probability and its teaching according to year of education and gender. A relational scanning survey model was used, which was applied by following the quantitative paradigm. Maximum diversity sampling was used in the study with 212 participants. The t-test, one-way analysis of variance, and Pearson's product moment correlation analysis were also used. The male pre-service teachers had lower negative attitudes towards uncertainty than the female pre-service teachers did. There was a significant difference in favor of the male pre-service teachers in AP_Total score, while there was a significant difference in favor of the female pre-service teachers in BT_Total and VPT_Total scores. A significant difference was found in the sub-dimensions according to year of education. Moreover, a weakly positive relationship (r=.212 p.01) was found between the pre-service teachers' attitudes regarding probability and its teaching and their attitudes toward uncertainty. It is suggested that the curriculum be restructured on the basis of an axiomatic context with an understanding of the uncertainty in life, and that this symbolic relationship between uncertainty in other disciplines and mathematics should be established.
