| Summary: | <p>ABSTRACT</p><p class="Abstract">Luteolin?7,4??dimethyl ether (C<sub>17</sub>H<sub>14</sub>O<sub>6</sub>); apigenin?5?methyl ether (C<sub>16</sub>H<sub>12</sub>O<sub>5</sub>) and ??sitosterol-3-O-?-glucopyranoside (C<sub>35</sub>H<sub>60</sub>O<sub>6</sub>) were isolated from ethyl acetate extracts of Areca catechu L. root. Structures of these compounds have been elucidated by modern spectroscopic methods: MS, <sup>1</sup>H-NMR, <sup>13</sup>C-NMR, HSQC, COSY and HMBC.</p><p class="Keyword">Keywords: Areca catechu L., components, luteolin?7,4??dimethyl ether, apigenin?5?methyl ether, ?-sitosterol-3-O-?-glucopyranoside, root</p><p class="AbstractTitle">Title: Study on the chemical components of Areca catechu L. root</p><p>TóM TắT</p><p class="Abstract">Luteolin?7,4??dimethyl ether (C<sub>17</sub>H<sub>14</sub>O<sub>6</sub>), apigenin?5?methyl ether (C<sub>16</sub>H<sub>12</sub>O<sub>5</sub>) và ??sitosterol-3-O-?-glucopyranoside (C<sub>35</sub>H<sub>60</sub>O<sub>6</sub>) được cô lập từ cao ethyl acetate của rễ Cau.
