One year after the treatment, i.e. 14 months after the start of the transmission period, the proportion of patients with positive skin biopsies, and their mean microfilarial loads, did not differ significantly between the two groups. Thus a single dose of ivermectin does not seem to have any perceptible prophylactic effect against O.volvulus. |
