Description
Summary:Games have been part of futures since its establishment as a discipline, and have been experiencing a surge of creative energy that mirrors the growth of the tabletop gaming industry. However, the difficulty and time commitment of designing and developing a formal game has inhibited the development of games at levels of quality and complexity approaching commercial games. Recent advances in Artificial Intelligence make it possible to narrow the gap between the two. By combining multiple AI and other free and commercial tools, a game made in a few weeks for a class presentation was effective and won high praise. The implications for the field, that futures games are an increasingly accessible tool for teaching futures content, are discussed.
