From this purpose was conducted empirical research of qualitative character with stand-alone or linked to mental institutions caregivers. The theoretical orientation was based on the concepts of care economy Viviana Zelizer (2005c), proposing that economic relations are crossed by intimacy, requiring involved an effort to establish "good matches" between money and emotional ties. The results show that these relations, but otherwise operate like "working arenas" in an attempt to fit between intimacy and money, can not be considered as "good matches" in the full sense, since caregivers do not make the precise demarcation of the function money, generating frustration and indicative of mental illness, since the dedication requirements and altruism are oversized.
