| Summary: | In this article are reviewed and analysed the works of the Ruthenian authours on the historyof the Ruthenians made in the period between the two world wars as well as the circumstances ofthe time which were described and written down and which are an important source of literaturefor studying their history. None of them, except H. Kosteljnik, was a professional historian andnone had serious scholarly ambitions. Kosteljnik’s work is not analysed, it is only mentioned,because his historiographic work has already been analysed on several occasions. The analysisincludes about 15 authours and their 30 works. Although these historiographic works are of nogreater value, the only exception being The Cronicle of the Backerestur Parish by H. Kosteljnik,in their time they represented significant information on the history of the Ruthenians in variousaspects of their social and economic life. Even today they represent important and inevitable literaturein studying the history of the Ruthenians in Southern Hungary/Yugoslavia. |
