description In emergency department, a delayed diagnosis and treatment of ileus causes a substantial increase in morbidity and mortality. : In this study we aimed to determine the major risk factors of mortality and hospital stay length in patients with ileus. It was determined that blood transfusion requirement; lactate, total bilirubin, and C-reactive protein levels; presence of colon cancer; and mean arterial pressure were among the parameters that can be used for predicting mortality in patients with ileus. In addition, qSOFA value and potassium, sodium, and total protein levels were determined to be among the parameters that are effective for determining the need for surgery in patients with ileus.
