Summary:Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a systemic inflammatory disorder mainly involving joints but almost 50% of the patients develop extra-articular manifestation, one of the most common being lung involvement. While essentially any of the lung compartments can be involved, interstitial lung disease (ILD) is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. In this review, we discuss main current concepts in the screening, diagnostic and monitoring strategies of RA-ILD as well as therapeutic recommendations.
