description This paper analyzes some of the different characterizations of the idea of the Overman, in relation to the evolution of Nietzsche’s idea of “Dionysus”, pointing to the concept of will to Power. The use that Nietzsche does of Dionysus in his first work, The Birth of Tragedy, shows how he conceives the Apollonian-Dionysian dichotomy as a unity, while in later texts, there is a fragmentation of that unity. Through these changes, we can see the different conceptions of individuality, community, and truth in Nietzsche’s work. Finally, this paper considers that behind these different conceptions lies Nietzsche’s appreciation of reason and truth.
