description Noise pollution is a problem that interferes with sustainable urban development and possibly the risk of disasters in the long term. Therefore, this work addressed the socio-environmental effects caused by fixed sources of noise and the impact on sustainable urban development in the La Granja neighborhood, Municipality of Montería, Colombia. Aspects related to good living, care and sustainable cities were considered. The methodology used a mixed type, varying through stages. In which the characteristics of the problem were identified and analyzed, considering social behaviors, vulnerability and skills of the population. The results obtained allow us to establish that the population recognizes a direct relationship between the fixed sources that emit noise and the negative effects on their good living. The main conclusion indicates that the noise levels obtained in the characterization for certain points and times do not comply with Colombian Resolution 0627 of 2006 for a sector B (Residential). Thus, residents recognize that there is environmental contamination, and shortcomings in the monitoring and control procedures carried out by the authorities.
