description Platelets contain a reservoir of growth factors that have numerous biological activities such as assisting in chemotaxis, cell differentiation, proliferation, and angiogenesis which all are pivotal in the wound healing process. From this, platelet concentrates have been described in the literature beginning from the first generation to the second generation both of which have a beneficial impact on the healing of soft and hard tissue following oral surgical procedures.
