Summary:We report Neocallichirus agadirensis n. sp. (Decapoda, Thalassinidea, Callianassidae) from the Late Cretaceous (Cenomanian) of Agadir (W Morocco). This species has been described based upon four specimens that preserve ischium, merus, carpus, propodus, and dactylus of the great cheliped. The new species represents the first report of Neocallichirus in Africa and the oldest species known to date belonging to this genus.
