Summary:The taxonomic system of the subfamily Oxytelinae is revised after study of genital segments and genitalia (mainly females). Number of sclerites of genital segments of females varies from 3 (tergite IX and two paraprocts in the genus Oxytelus Gravenhorst, 1806 and other) to 10 (sternite IX, tergite IX, two paraprocts, two valvifers, two coxites, two styli in the genus Syntomium Curtis, 1828). The following taxa are resurrected: Deleasterini Reitter, 1909, tribus resurr., Syntomiini Boving et Craighead, 1931, tribus resurr., Thinobiini J. Sahlberg, 1876, tribus resurr., Craetopycrus Tottenham, 1939, subgenus resurr. The subtribe Oxytelitae Thomson, 1858 is allocated and some groups of genera are considered
