description The relevance of the paper is caused by the necessity of economic substantiation of antimonopoly law regulations developed by member-countries of The EurAsEC Common economic space. The main aim of the study: to form methodological approach towards the assessment of the efficiency of antimonopoly law which allows taking into account the features of economy industrial structure and influence on economic indices of social welfare; to assess the Russian antimonopoly law regulations aimed at identification of economic entities dominant position. The methods used in the study: The paper was done in the framework of new institutional economic theory; the authors have used the abstract-logical approach based on system analysis of economic processes, have applied economic-mathematical methods and models, analysis of studied indexes dynamics. The results: The authors developed the methodological approach for assessing the efficiency of the antimonopoly law which allows taking into account both the influence on economic indices of social welfare, and the possibility of implementing the considered regulations; estimated the efficiency of the Russian antimonopoly law regulations aimed at identification of economic entities dominant position; justified the necessity to take into account industrial structure of economy, influence of concentration on social welfare indices when determining dominant position (electricity wholesale market is used as the example); determined the disadvantages of the antitrust laws and proposed recommendations on their improvement.
