Summary: | The article presents the results of the
study of the dynamics of future psychologists’ professional identity formation during their studies at the university with the help of a questionnaire
on the professional identity of students (authored by V.S. Rodygina).
The content of the cognitive component of the students-psychologists’
professional identity in the notions concerning the chosen profession from
the first to the fifth courses is analyzed with the help of content analysis of
reflexive works on the topic «My future profession and me».
It is shown that when teaching students-psychologists there are changes in both views on the profession of a psychologist, and in the proper
sense of self-understanding in this profession.
It is found out that the image of future psychologists about professional activity is different at each stage of the training. The image of the
profession among first-year students is characterized by the prevalence of
idealized ideas about the content of psychologists’ activities, however, students of the senior courses understand the meaning of the work of a psychologist more profoundly and demonstrate knowledge of specific types of
psychological activities. The initial stage of training is characterized by the
definition of one’s own professional intentions, an acquaintance with the
professionally important qualities of a professional psychologist occurs.
The final stage of vocational training is characterized by the self-development as a subject of professional activities, determination of ways of selfrealization of the desired professional future.
It is concluded that in the process of professional training the students’ perception of their professional future becomes deeper and differentiated, such reflecting the objective and subjective notions of the work of a
psychologist. |
