Description
Summary:The ‘Battle of Poems’ is a new game created by the GeoTales group, from UNIRIO, with the aim of promoting Geosciences. Its development was based on the concept of Geopoetics, which approaches the diverse forms of the relation of human beings with the planet Earth. The objective of the ‘Battle of Poems’ is for the participants to identify in the GeoTales poetic performances the concepts of Geosciences that are indirectly present (unintentional, with no pedagogical purposes) in poems of several authors. Analyzing the correlations awakened in 185 students of the elementary school and high school attended at the Museum of Earth Sciences and other educational institutions, it has confirmed the relevance of the affective factor in improving Geosciences education and dissemination.
