Summary:The level of patient satisfaction with the result of the medical services received is one of the important aspects of assessment of the quality of medical care. The rendered medical care that meets the expectations and requirements of patients determines the level of their satisfaction. Insufficiently high patient satisfaction with the quality of medical services is today a problem not only for the Institute, but also for whole Russia’s public health care. The elements of market mechanisms as a quality management system are being introduced to solve intricate problems to achieve the effective work of the public health care system under limited resources. Annual assessment of the level of satisfaction of the Institute’s patients, users of medical services, and calculation of the satisfaction index make it possible to estimate changes in the activity of the Novosibirsk Research Institute of Tuberculosis and its strengths and weaknesses and to elaborate a strategy for continuous medical care quality improvement.
