description Background: Test anxiety is a common problem among students. Applying the learning and studying strategies to deal with anxiety disorder can improve students' academic performance. The purpose of this study was to investigate the studying and learning strategies and its relationship with test anxiety among students of Yazd University of Medical Sciences in 2016. Methods: This analytical and correlational study was conducted in 2016 and contained practical results. The target population of this study was students of Yazd University of Medical Sciences. The data collection tools were 2 questionnaires for studying and learning strategies of Wayinstein and Sarason test anxiety questionnaire. The required number of participants based on the stratified random sampling method was 350 by taking into account 95 % confidence level and 80 % power. Finally, the data were analyzed using SPSS 22 by correlation coefficient. Result: The findings of the study showed that there was a significant relationship between the level of test anxiety, the level of studying and learning strategies, as well as some aspects of it (anxiety, attitude, concentration, self-examination, main idea selection, and test strategies) (p < 0.001). In addition, there was no significant relationship between the level of students' exam anxiety and the information processing pillars, motivation, study guide, and time management (p > 0.001). Other findings of the research indicated that there was a significant correlation between the score of studying and learning strategies and the level of test anxiety in terms of demographic variables (p < 0.001). Conclusion: According to the results of this study, improvement of students' studying and learning strategies can be considered as one of the methods of reducing test anxiety.
