Description
Summary:The distribution of settlements in an area can form specific patterns according to the characteristics of the region. Settlement patterns have quantitative characteristics, supporting comparisons of distribution patterns over time and space. Several factors underlie the formation of settlement patterns, one of which is the Earth's surface morphology. This research aims to understand the settlement distribution patterns based on topography in the Balik Bukit sub-district and the relationship between settlement patterns and topographical factors. The research uses data analysis methods such as nearest neighbor analysis and descriptive analysis. The results show that settlement distribution patterns based on topography can be observed through variations in elevation and slope, resulting in clustered settlement patterns in low-lying areas to hilly terrain. The patterns based on slope also reveal both clustered and dispersed settlement patterns. The relationship between settlement patterns and topographical factors indicates clustered settlement patterns occur due to varied morphological conditions, including low-lying areas to high-relief terrain.
