description This article examines the socio-political position of the Russian Army officers into the context of the events of the First Russian Revolution. In order to analyze the attitudes of the officer corps representatives, the author appealed to the testimonies of contemporaries, to the information identified in the prints of the early 20th Century, or in various archives. It concludes that, despite some cases of officers’ involvement in the revolutionary activity, the officer corps as a whole remained faithful to their oath and acted, normally, within the regulatory framework outlined by the military regulations and by the laws of the Russian Empire.
