| description | Amid the multicrises scenario to generate employment, income and social welfare for the poor or socioeconomically lower class, the Brazilian government encouraged the creation of cooperatives grounded in principles of Solidarity Economy. Despite the importance of these cooperatives for sustainability, there is evidence in Brazil that these new forms of organization have difficulties to survive and problems in achieving the sustainability principles. The study analyzed three Recycling Cooperatives from Maringá - PR, their advances and limitations regarding the principles of Solidarity Economy. The study was characterized by multi cases, with semi-structured interviews conducted with the members of each cooperative. It was concluded that the issues and limitations of these projects exceed some of their achievements, and they are in a phase of crisis in their development and administrative process, besides being far from the principle of self-management of the Solidarity Economy. |
