description | This paper represents a chronological view of the application and effectiveness of different alternative techniques for cooling, flushing and lubrication during different procedures of machining process. Based on the results of the literature review the merger of two alternative techniques, cooling with cold compressed air by using a vortex tube in combination with minimum quantity lubrication creates the possibility of improving the efficiency of machining processes with the fulfilling of the requirements of sustainability. Considering the fact that during the analysis of the literature research the effects of minimum quantity lubrication techniques on ecological and economic dimensions of sustainability are not completely presented, and that the application of the technique of compressed cold air in combination with minimum quantity lubrication is not fully investigated, there is a possibility for additional research based on which the possibility of increasing the efficiency of machining with a combination of the two techniques would be researched. |
