Every team is in need of a leader. The results of a team depend to a great extent on a good leadership. Nowadays the efficiency of the whole team depends on the efficiency of the guards. Being the organizer of the game a guard is actually its catalyst; he dictates the rhythm, makes the decisions about organizing counterattack and semi counterattack. All this decision-making and organizing demand certain qualities in an organizer that should be closely analyzed. That is, all the factors of the success in basketball such as mobility, situational mobility, functional and cognitive abilities and conative characteristics should be paid special attention to. Good counter- and positional attack depend to a great extent to the technical and tactical maneuvers of the guards. Without good passing, game review and tactical knowledge there cannot be good coordination among the players, which is the necessary prerequisite for easy scoring |
