description Designers were interested in studying the relationship between science, nature and art; as some of them apply natural phenomena on sciences and art, some benefit from natural systems; while some focus on the application of scientific theories on art. While science highlights the practical and scientific results, art highlights the aesthetic results. Nature is one of the most important sources of artistic vision, and the relationship between nature and art has ranged between imitation and inspiration; as the artist’s vision of nature and the aesthetic forms contained therein became not only for the purpose of imitation and simulation of its virtual images and forms, but to work on contemplation and extracting its essence, so that aesthetics becomes the most important part of contemplation of those forms, which is a field for the realization of those manifestations, formations, organizations, and what they contain of various technical elements. Indeed, the artist’s awareness of the form in nature - on the basis of the natural factors, phenomena and forces that control its construction and formation of its body - makes him realize the standards and format of the form as a starting point for the formulation of his/her creative work. Natural phenomena and forces are nothing but a quantity of sensory information represented by vision in a set of characteristics and features, some of which are fixed to some extent; because it belongs to the structural nature of the form, such as the form of vocabulary, angles, and surface manifestations of linear, tactile and color relations. Indeed, this research is based on the study of one of the latest contemporary artistic trends, which is the art of tectonics; which is derived from one of the fields of natural sciences rich in plastic and aesthetic values of sensible and linear elements and that is geotechnical science - or what is called Geotectonics - as one of the branches of the Structural Geology and it is a field that includes a large amount of diverse and rich systems in aesthetic forms. This research focuses on the study of tectonic art and the analysis of its vocabulary and design treatments that tectonic artists dealt with in their work; especially the different styles, methods, techniques, materials and what these works include of artistic and aesthetic values in order to reach a set of new and innovative vocabulary that contributes to enriching decorative designs.
