| description | Arrhythmic storm in otherwise healthy women with no structural heart disease is rare life-threatening event and its timely recognition and intervention is crucial for safe outcome. This case report describes about a young lady with no prior heart disease who post caesarean delivery went into sepsis and a Ventricular Tachycardia (VT) storm that was refractory to pharmacotherapy and repeated DC shocks. The patient had polymorphic VT with underlying long QT syndrome. She had a critical course and was finally rescued with cardiac pacing. This case report and literature review on the subject highlights the role of cardiac pacing in emergency management. |
