<p>In this paper we intend to reflect on the importance of language learning from an intercultural perspective. In recent years this approach has become an essential aspect of the foreign language classroom, where cultural diversity is a fact of life. This inclusion facilitates individual and collective reflection on one’s own and other people’s environment and allows for a positive consideration of differences, i.e. reflection from this point of view makes it possible to consider different cultures as something enriching for one’s training as an individual and, furthermore, to awaken an interest in foreign cultures. In this way, the learner will develop the ability to interact with others, to accept and value other cultural perspectives and to mediate between them. In this sense, numerous studies have been carried out in recent years in which the intercultural component has been revealed as a key aspect, highlighting the role of cultural learning as something intrinsic to languages and, therefore, as a fundamental aspect in the process of teaching and learning foreign languages.</p> |
