Description
Summary:Arterio-ureteral fistula is an abnormal connection between a ureter and an artery. Patients present with hematuria that can progress to life-threatening hemorrhage. Diagnosis requires a high degree of clinical suspicion. We present the case of a 60 y/o female who presented with gross hematuria secondary to a fistula between the right limb of an aorta-bifemoral graft and ureter. The patient was managed via an endovascular approach with complete resolution of her symptoms. Endovascular management of arterio-ureteral fistula is safe and effective. An open approach may offer better long-term outcomes and indicated in patients who fail endovascular management.
