description The paper analyzes the visual aspect of the score cover page and the musical content of the Marš Miloša S. Milojevića (Miloš S. Milojević`s March) for piano (1881), composed by Vićentije Petrik, a Czech musician who worked in Serbia at the end of the 19th century. This almost unknown work of our musical past, dedicated to the Miloš S. Milojević (1840-1897), a prominent figure of the Serbian military, political and cultural history, was chosen as a paradigmatic example of the musical and visually expressed ideology of nationalism. The visual aspect of the score cover page, where the soldiers of the Deževa-Ibar battalion which fought in the Serbian-Turkish wars (1876-1878) and the commander of the battalion Miloš S. Milojević where shown, have almost documentary character. Thus, in the visual identity of the cover page has been achieved authenticity - one of the main elements of the poetics of the visual culture of nationalism. The realistic figures of the soldiers, the precise lines and the many other details, suggest that the lithography of the score cover page is probably inspired by a photo. The music analysis shows that the Petrik`s march corresponds with the canonized form of the march genre and the presence of the established markers of the national musical discourse. Miloš Milojević`s March belongs to the type of folklore march. While in the first part of the march one cannot establish a connection with some concrete folk song, the beginning of the melody in Trio shows similarity to the Serbian folk song Sunce jarko, ne sijaš jednako (Bright sun, you don't shine equally). The mentioned elements characteristic for the visual and musical poetics of the national culture testify about the comprehensiveness and presence of the national ideology in various media of artistic creation according to the dominant social values, expectations and the taste of the Serbian musical audience and public opinion.
