Summary:The accumulated social debt in Brazil in relation to the housing shortage impresses. Social inequalities, characteristic of Brazilian society, manifested physically segregated spaces in cities. The right to housing although constitutionally guaranteed, still have difficulties to be effective. This social-housing imbalance stimulates an exercise in reconstruction of evolution and profiles of housing policies implemented in Brazil, showing the lines of action and objectives of the proposed action’s socioeconomic My House My Life Program, demonstrating their progress and differential in relation to the trajectory housing policy in Brazil. It is observed that, historically, housing policies have not effectively reached the neediest class, with incomes until three minimum wages, reality that began to be transformed with the My House My Life Program, even with the operational and institutional failures still exist.
