Summary:Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are a class of non-protein-coding RNAs with transcript lengths >200 nucleotides. They play important roles in the regulation of gene expression through epigenetic mechanisms, such as chromatin remodeling, post-transcriptional processing, and acting as miRNA sponges. Recently, the involvement of lncRNAs in the pathogenesis of many diseases has been demonstrated. In this paper, we briefly review the latest progress in understanding the role of lncRNAs in the development of Hirschsprung disease (HSCR).
