description | A new small high-gain wideband rectangular patch antenna is proposed in this paper. The antenna has a simple structure where the dimensions are about 11 mm by 7 mm by 1.58 mm leading to a good bandwidth. The antenna structure is optimized and simulated using electromagnetic commercial software, and the measured bandwidth defined by return loss <−10 dB is 1.97 GHz from 10.94 to 12.91 GHz for simulated results and 2.75 GHz covering from 10.8 to 13.55 GHz for measured results using vector network analyser. The gain is up to 4.91 dBi with a good radiation pattern. The comparison between simulation and measurement results permits to validate the structure of the proposed antenna. The low expenses of this profile and its simple configuration allow for an easy fabrication process, with usability in many applications such as radar, satellite and wireless communication. |
