Summary:Expanding on our metavisual theory of art, we propose an in-depth study of how perception is integrated in descriptive semiotics. With reference to Paul Klee’s thinking eye, we aim to establish that a metasemiotic understanding can be attained within the field of the sensible, as much as a discourse which is embedded in the same expressive domain of the analysed object enables its comprehension and the metasemiotic determination of an emerging meaning in art.
