Summary:In June 1927, as be was travelling from Naples to Lourmarin, Henry Bosco stayed with his friend, Pierre Duval the painter, in La-Valette-du-Var. He had written only one novel so far and was now in search of a more personal style of writing. His sensitivity was struck by the beautiful Orvès property owned by his host. On the basis of this encounter, he started to elaborate a new medium which he was to exploit in his later novels.
