Description
Summary:The authors presented a case of iatrogenic electric burn of shin. The electric burn was very deep and extensive. The complications of burn included: wounds requiring debridement, extensive necrotic myositis, cellulitis and osteomyelitis. We made a debridement. After it, we used the cross-leg flap for recovering of tissue defect. The treatment led to a good result. Cross-leg flap offers the possibility of salvaging limbs that are otherwise nonreconstructable. It is an easy technique, not time consuming, suitable for junior plastic surgeon, and highly reliable tool for the reconstruction of difficult wounds of the lower limbs. It offers a large flap dimensions to cover most of the defects of the lower extremities especially whenever bone, tendons, and neurovascular bundles are exposed.
