B. Lopes, C. Eckstein, V. S. Moustacas, M. F. d’Ornellas, H. L. S. Ponce RESUMO Brucellosis is a zoonotic infectious disease is a chronic condition caused by bacteria of the genus Brucella, which affect animals and man. The disease has become endemic in Brazil, resulting in economic losses both from the point of view of beef production and public health. This study aims to demonstrate the occurrence of animal reagents based on card test (CT), comparing the results with the occurrence of gross lesions at post - slaughter and identification of bacterial DNA by the technique of chain reaction by (PCR). Blood samples were obtained immediately after animals stunning were also collected and the lymph nodes in the slaughter lines. Associated with the collection of material for laboratory diagnosis, made up the inspection for macroscopic lesions, following the routine of the Federal Inspection Service (SIF) of the cattle slaughterhouse located in the municipality of Colíder/MT. In total, 622 blood samples were collected, 14.3% were positive according to the test of CT. According to Kappa test, there is a poor correlation entity tests. Based on the McNemar test, the occurrence of the results is significantly different between the two tests.
