description The oswaldian drama is parodistic and developed under the perspective of the anthropophagic proposal, which seeks, through the assimilation and deglutition of a past culture, to grant men self-awareness in his time in order to think of the future. Thus, one could state that Oswalds contribution is not restricted to aesthetic innovation, since the social, political and philosophical revolutions (CURY, 2003, p, 26), aestheticized in his work lead one into rethink his culture under the perspective of the formation of a national identity. The aim of this text is to verify , through allegory, carnavalization, parody and menippean satire, how Oswald anthropophagically describes society in the play O homem e o cavalo (1934), a play that, alongside A Morta (1937) and O rei da vela (1937), belong to the trilogy of devouring of oswaldian drama.
