description Suburban areas are designed with two inseparable components: the typical house with garden and the car. On this territory, undergoing densification, mobilities are more and more complicated. Biking, walking and using public transport or car sharing are every day practices, but the car is still the specific device that produces suburbs and especially the single-family housing. Yet, mobilities of inhabitants also depend on other reasons: a strong dispersion of activities, acute mobilities segregations and weak governance in this area. Regarding to these dimensions, suburbs is simultaneously an original territory and a social dynamics analyser.
