description This paper is devoted to the modelling and numerical simulations of collisionless multispecies plasmas. In the framework of tokamak applications, we detail the dimensional analysis of the coupled kinetic system in order to extract the important parameters of the model. From there, we focus on two asymptotics. We first investigate the implementation of a solver adapted the quasineutral limit in order to deal with large scale simulations. In a second time, we study the massless electron approximation through numerical experiments and question the validity of the usual Maxwell-Boltzmann density approximation.
