Description
Summary:The paper studies the territory of the Middle Irtysh within Pavlodar region in which there is an exacerbation of geoecological situation. The author analyzed the peculiarities of nature management in one of the major industrial regions of Northern Kazakhstan in order to identify regional differences in terms of socio-economic development that lead to the differentiation of the extent of human impact on the environment. For the analysis of socio-economic development of the region the indicators characterizing the economy (the region's place in the economy, the structure and dynamics of the GRP growth, density, industrial production, investment in fixed assets, the road density), the level and quality of life of the population (the average wage, employment, life expectancy, morbidity) were considered. The estimation of anthropogenic transformation of territories was performed on the basis of calculating the coefficient of anthropogenic transformation. Within the region, three types of geo-environmental foci of increased tensions were identified, which are formed mainly near the towns and large villages in areas of mineral development and intensive agriculture.
