| description | This work studies the representativeness of natural ecosystems in the territory of natural reserves of the Zhytomyr region: Natural Reserve «Drevlyansky» and Polesye Natural Reserve, the status and significance of natural ecosystems, in particular terrestrial (forest) and freshwater (rivers and marshes). The main problems of protection and preservation of the presented natural ecosystems in the territory of the nature reserves of Zhytomyr Polesye are considered.
It has been established that the area of the natural-reserved fund of the Zhytomyr region increased during the last decade and, hence, there is the increase in ecosystems; the dynamics of its structure has been analyzed but the indicator of the reserve in the region, which is 4,5 %, remains rather low compared to other regions of Ukraine, with the general indicator of 6,6 % through the country. Besides, it has been established that the anthropogenic changes in the area of wetlands are progressing and there is the lack of effective measures for forest ecosystems. When comparing the areas of the territories, on which the natural ecosystems of the reserves are based, significant fluctuations of some natural ecosystems over the others over the proportion of particle size have been established; therefore, it is necessary to ensure the restoration of the key elements of the ecosystems that have been destroyed and maintained under the existing natural ecosystems of the reserves. |
