| description | This article investigates the possible systemic use of the political repression apparatus of the civil-military dictatorship, in support of the reoccupation process and administration of the Federal Territory of Rondônia from the creation of the National Integration Program (1970), until the creation of the state of Rondônia, in 1981. The methodology was based on exploratory and documentary research with a qualitative approach. The application of the historical method enabled the development of a critical analysis of official documents and historiography, as well as the construction of contextualized interpretations directly in the theoretical framework. Censorships, cassations, espionage, intimidation, arrests and torture were practiced by the regime, in order to ensure the effective development of the socio-political project of the generals in the service of big financial capital. The difficulty in accessing, in person, the National Archive in Brasilia, the lack of orderly classification of most documents, already available on the National Archive website, was configured as the biggest limitations in carrying out this work. |
