Description
Summary:
The decade of 1990 was the scene ofsignificant transformations in the economic, social and educational realms. Regarding education, especially Vocational and Technological Education, the Decree number 2,208/1997, signed by the former President Fernando Henrique Cardoso took effect in the scope of Vocational and Technological Education Reform. As the main consequence of this Decree, we have mentioned the separation between Technical Education and Secondary Education, a fact that lasted until its revocation by Decree 5,154/2004, signed by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. In this article, we carried out a survey of the academic publications regarding the Decree number 2,208 / 1997 based on the Catalog of Thesis and Dissertations of CAPES. The research was based on 14 projects, being 12 dissertations and 2 theses. The studies analyzed focused on the impacts brought by the Decree number2,208/1997, which were understood by the authors as a setback for vocational and technological education, since it consolidated the duality existing between education and general training.
